FAQ
What are tattoos?
Tattoos are a permanent mark made onto the body. The mark is made by pigments being inserted into the dermal layer of the skin through ruptures in the top layer of the skin.

Can Semi-permeant makeup be removed?
Semi-permanent makeup is widely available and when it goes wrong it is not a good experience, whether this is due to poor technique, shape, colour etc.
Laser tattoo removal of semi-permanent eyebrows or lips can be very effective and can help restore an individual’s confidence.
We are able to both remove and correct semi permanent make up. We use a combination of techniques ranging from the Q Switched ND: Yag laser to remove the pigment. Usually, 6-8 sessions are needed to remove/fade the makeup. £30 a session.

How does tattoo removal work?
Tattoo ink is seen as a foreign body in the skin layers. To target the pigment in the ink, laser light is used which causes photoacoustic fragmentation to the ink particles. The particles are removed by phagocytes and drained out of the body by the lymphatic system.

What can I expect after the treatment?
There may be swelling, redness and a white frosting over the tattoo straight after the treatment. This is normal and indicates the treatment has picked up the ink. The treatment area may scab and can take up to two weeks to heal fully. Aftercare will be discussed with your laser specialist.

Does it hurt?
The treatment may be uncomfortable but similar to getting a tattoo. We offer numbing cream before the treatment if required.

How many treatments are needed?
The laser machine is powerful enough to target the most stubborn ink, however, the number of treatments is all dependant on the tattoo. The ink used, skin type and quality of the tattoo all depends on the recommended number of treatments.

Recommended course: Minimum 6-8 treatments/ once every 8 weeks.

How much are the consultations and will I need a test patch?
Our consultations are free! You will need a test patch 24 hours before the treatment, which is also free of charge.
